Data Engineer
Location: Crystal City, VA
Hybrid, periodic onsite presence (approximately 1-2 days/month)
The Role
You'll be at the forefront of delivering data and software solutions that directly impact our clients' law enforcement mission. You'll work with dedicated team members and clients to solve technical problems and develop systems that keep our country safe and secure.

Required Technical Skills
- Python
- Relational database experience in Oracle or Postgres
- Strong SQL & Data Concepts Knowledge
Desired Technical Skills
- AWS (S3, RDS, EC2, Lamba, Step Function, EventBridge, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch)
- JSON and JSON format mediation techniques
- DevSecOps tools and techniques (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Vault)
- ETL Pipeline (Apache Spark, AWS Glue, Databricks), Streaming (i.e. Kafka), AI (LLMs, Semantic Search), Distributed Computing is a plus
- Familiarity with data management and aggregation patterns such as data warehouse, data mart, data lake, delta lake, lakehouse, data mesh.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather requirements, design, implement, and test software and systems
- Develop scalable, high-performance, and highly available applications and systems components
- Communicate effectively with clients and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Respond to client requirements in tight timeframes
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship (ability to obtain and maintain a DHS 6C Public Trust clearance)
- Bachelor's degree or higher (computer science background recommended but not required with suitable experience)
- Ability to work on-site in Crystal City, Virginia, 1-2 days per month
Experience
- Candidates should possess at least 3 years of relevant experience; however we are actively hiring across multiple experience levels, including more senior candidates.
- Leveling and compensation will be determined based on years of experience, technical expertise, and overall qualifications
- Experience working in government or high-security environments is a plus
